Cow parsley

Last weekend, i had one of my best friends, Hannah, come over for the day. We went up the river to the meadow. The woodlands there were covered in cow parsley and is so beautiful. We took a bubble machine for the girls to play with and then took some photos in the cows parsley. Elle picked a big bunch for me to have. She is so sweet. I am hoping to take the girls back here this week. Hopefully tomorrow. Its a wonderful little place.

Lilac crowns

Lilacs are just one of our favourites in this house. Our neighbours have so much of it in their garden which spills into ours and today, i collected some in a basket to make lilac crowns and to have some next to my bed in a jar. Even though the crown won't last very long, it looks so pretty hanging up. I adore the song Away by Hannah Fury and it inspired me to pick some and make up this crown. Elle then took all the left over flowers to play in her room with. She likes to arrange flowers in bunches and wrap them with ribbon. She has some in her room now also. And of course she just had to model the crown for me. As soon as i finished it, she was hovering over me, ready to wear it herself.

I heard he is missing in the river now
They say he is nowhere to be found
I hope she sang the sweetest lullaby
So that he was calm when he went down
Angels sing Glory Hallelujah
But he will bring his voice to heaven and blow them all away
He will bring his voice to heaven and blow them all away
I guess he is singing in the water now
Breathing in the purity of sound
I know she promised him a lilac crown
So that he was not afraid to drown
Angels sing Glory Hallelujah
But he will bring his voice to heaven and blow them all away
He will bring his voice to heaven and blow them all away
Put them all to shame
Blow them all away - Hannah Fury, Away.

Bluebell days

(music is Elle Graham)

Every year, we go to this wonderful secluded little wood called High wood. It becomes full of bluebells at this time of the year and hardly any one knows about it. There is a very popular bluebell wood down the road from here but to get to this wood, you have to go over a meadow and it is hidden down at the bottom of a hill. It really is the most beautiful of places.
This is the first year we have gone that Elle has really been old enough to explore the woods. She kept saying "I haven't seen anything like this before, it's so magical!" I so wanted to get pictures of the girls sitting in the bluebells but neither of them really wanted their photographs taken and were too busy exploring and running up and down the paths. I didn't want to push them so i didn't really take any of them. I never like to force them to have their photographs taken.
There is this wonderful, handmade teepee right in the middle of the woods and we love it. The girls played hide and seek in there with Gilles. The wood is also completely surrounded by sheep and goat fields. It really is such an enchanting place and i am looking forward to next year already!

Friday, i'm in love

I have been in love with love mae's items since before Elle was born. I always wanted one of the wall stickers for the girls rooms. I came across these on their website recently and i would just love them!

Min_e style  featured Elle's bedroom on their blog recently. Go over and have a peek.

I discovered this wonderful artist last week and i have fallen in love with the prints. This is my favourite. I would love it as the iphone case!

Elle starts school in september and i have been looking around at lunch boxes. I always end up coming back to the Ava's teaparty one by Belle and Boo. I think this will be our choice for Elle's lunch box but they have also just bought out another design which is also really love!

I love the dress that RubyEllen over at Cakies made for her little girls birthday. I am feeling so inspired lately to make some dresses for the girls. I found a wonderful pillowcase dress tutorial and i have some spare pillow cases to use so i hope i can put it into practice this week.

This Maileg circus tent is amazing!!!

I think i need this dress in my life. I have one of my best friends weddings to photograph next month, and this dress would be perfect for me to wear!

Lately

This week started with my very first blog summit. I had a wonderful time. I wish i had talked to more people and given out more of my business packages but sometimes my shyness takes over. It was lovely none the less and i learnt a lot about what i can do with this little blog of mine. It is quite exciting and i hope you will all follow me on this little journey. I really do appreciate every follower and comment. It means the world to me.

The next three days are going to be perfect full of kite flying, bluebell wood picnics and a day with one of my best friends. I am looking forward to posting about these.

My darling friend, Hannah, does a "there in spirit" feature. She lives an hour away now so once every few weeks, i text her photos throughout our day of the girls and she does a post on them. Pop over to her blog to see photographs of my day with the girls. We went to the marina this morning followed by a walk to the abbey gardens and bluebells.

Video: A sunset walk

Wednesdays are always our busiest days with Elle's preschool in the morning, followed by a 2 mile walk to her gymnastics class and then back again. It rained and rained all day but come this evening, the sun appeared so when my husband got in from walk, i took my camera with me and took a walk along the river. Since getting my new SLR for christmas, i have loved making videos of the girls, so today i decided to make a video of my walk and play around with the sunlight.

The sun did disappear after a while behind a storm cloud but it was wonderful none the less.
